I FINALLY sold one of these cards to someone yesterday. Granted, there isn't a huge market out there for cards with dead cartoon kitties in them, so I'll take what few sales I can get. Thank you, mysterious sweetheart. I hope your significant other appreciates your devotion to him/her.

Valentine's Day Challenge

Because I've got so much stuff going on offline and online, my participation at places like Redbubble has really suffered. That sucks, because I love that place. However, I did manage to enter one of my designs into a challenge at one of the the groups I'm a member of here. My Kawaii Kitty Valentine Exchange design has already snagged three votes. You say three votes doesn't sound like a lot? Well it is to me, considering the high-caliber competition on Redbubble. I'd punch a nun for 3 votes there.

I liked the labels so much that I decided use the same design to make some iPad cases. Each one is a template that you can customize by adding your own photo or whatever image you choose.

Baroque Damask Custom Address Labels

Well, they're not specifically "baroque," but I needed a word in the product title that suggests a sense of "fanciness." You know, the way those marketing buzzwords like "clinically proven" just make you want to run out and grab a $30 bottle of shampoo or facial cream like RIGHT NOW. So you have to buy these and tell all your friends about them.

Kawaii Kitty Valentine Exchange

I first posted this design at Redbubble.com and to my everlasting delight it got featured there. So far it's one of my favorite designs. It's one of the first designs I did in Illustrator entirely with the pen/shape tools without drawing and auto-tracing anything first. Of course I had to make a Valentine's card out of it, because nothing says "Happy Valentine's Day" like vital organs forcibly removed from a bloody chest cavity.

Color for Color Lovers

Here's perhaps the most useful thing I've discovered on Twitter besides @drunkhulk: Design-Seeds.com. The owner puts together these fantastic color palettes that you can use as inspiration for any kind of design. The palettes are little works of art in and of themselves; some of them look downright edible. I drop by the site whenever I need a burst of creativity. If you're a designer, I highly recommend Design Seeds as a great resource.
